Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Fixed Line Telecommunications, Oil & Gas Producers and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Londonmetric Property Plc (LON:LMPL), which rose 2.56% or 5.10 points to trade at 204.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Entain PLC (LON:ENT) added 2.22% or 14.00 points to end at 646.00 and Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) was up 2.05% or 325.00 points to 16,200.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which fell 2.34% or 13.00 points to trade at 541.50 at the close. Whitbread PLC (LON:WTB) declined 1.77% or 52.00 points to end at 2,885.00 and Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICGIN) was down 1.67% or 36.00 points to 2,126.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1037 to 727 and 714 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.93% or 23.80 to $2,536.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.37% or 1.80 to hit $74.11 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 1.48 to trade at $77.34 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 101.58.
