Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.38%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Electricity and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.38% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Meiloon Industrial Co Ltd (TW:2477), which rose 9.98% or 2.45 points to trade at 27.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Chroma ATE Inc (TW:2360) added 6.79% or 22.00 points to end at 346.00 and Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) was up 6.07% or 7.50 points to 131.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645), which fell 9.96% or 5.20 points to trade at 47.00 at the close. Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) declined 9.95% or 0.21 points to end at 1.90 and Epileds Technologies Inc (TW:4956) was down 9.94% or 3.10 points to 28.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Chroma ATE Inc (TW:2360) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.79% or 22.00 to 346.00. Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) fell to all time lows; losing 9.95% or 0.21 to 1.90.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.00% or 0.66 to $66.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.01% or 0.70 to hit $69.89 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 8.20 to trade at $2,551.30 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.22% to 32.12, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 101.34.
