Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.37%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Plastic and Chemical sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.37%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538), which rose 70.12% or 11.92 points to trade at 28.92 at the close. Meanwhile, King’s Town Construction Co Ltd (TW:2524) added 10.00% or 6.70 points to end at 73.70 and Harvatek Corp (TW:6168) was up 10.00% or 2.10 points to 23.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153), which fell 7.98% or 1.30 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Mao Bao Inc (TW:1732) declined 7.42% or 2.30 points to end at 28.70 and Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) was down 7.14% or 8.00 points to 104.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) rose to 5-year highs; up 70.12% or 11.92 to 28.92. Shares in Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153) fell to 5-year lows; down 7.98% or 1.30 to 15.00.

Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.96% or 0.68 to $71.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.88% or 0.65 to hit $74.64 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 2.36 to trade at $2,615.74 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.15% to 32.80, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 107.76.
