Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 2.13%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Electronics and Electrical/Machinery sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 2.13%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593), which rose 9.97% or 0.60 points to trade at 6.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) added 9.95% or 2.20 points to end at 24.30 and Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912) was up 9.81% or 10.50 points to 117.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which fell 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 at the close. Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) declined 6.47% or 4.80 points to end at 69.40 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) was down 5.19% or 7.00 points to 128.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 5-year highs; rising 9.95% or 2.20 to 24.30.

Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.19% or 0.13 to $68.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.28% or 0.20 to hit $72.03 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.41 to trade at $2,664.91 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.10% to 32.64, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 106.49.
