Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB), which rose 3.76% or 5.97 points to trade at 164.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) added 2.54% or 0.30 points to end at 12.13 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) was up 2.25% or 1.17 points to 53.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which fell 2.21% or 0.43 points to trade at 19.04 at the close. Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) declined 1.66% or 2.94 points to end at 174.68 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) was down 1.43% or 1.95 points to 134.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 111 to 101 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.21% or 0.43 to 19.04.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 11.00 to $2,535.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.67% or 1.13 to hit $68.80 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $71.98 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.02% to 19.88, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.01% to 21.95.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 101.61.
