Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Biotech & Medical Care and Electronics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.62% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Parpro Corp (TW:4916) added 9.89% or 3.20 points to end at 35.55 and MiTAC Holdings Corp (TW:3706) was up 9.87% or 4.85 points to 54.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ALi Corp (TW:3041), which fell 39.85% or 13.08 points to trade at 19.75 at the close. Chien Kuo Construction Co Ltd (TW:5515) declined 20.18% or 5.54 points to end at 21.90 and GeoVision Inc (TW:3356) was down 10.86% or 7.56 points to 62.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 3-years highs; up 350.24% or 7.39 to 9.50.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.47% or 0.33 to $70.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.35% or 0.26 to hit $73.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 18.20 to trade at $2,676.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.30% to 32.35, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 104.98.
