U.K. stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 up 0.46%

Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Chemicals and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.46%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Croda International PLC (LON:CRDA), which rose 3.30% or 138.00 points to trade at 4,321.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Smith & Nephew PLC (LON:SN) added 2.96% or 33.50 points to end at 1,165.00 and Prudential PLC (LON:PRU) was up 2.70% or 18.40 points to 700.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF), which fell 4.02% or 745.00 points to trade at 17,800.00 at the close. Next PLC (LON:NXT) declined 3.55% or 358.00 points to end at 9,742.00 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) was down 2.44% or 15.50 points to 621.00.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1132 to 658 and 672 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.86% or 23.10 to $2,671.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.09% or 0.74 to hit $68.41 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.63 to trade at $71.72 a barrel.

GBP/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.34, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 100.20.
