Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 2.96%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Semiconductor and Other Electronic sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 2.96%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Creative Sensor Inc (TW:8249), which rose 9.99% or 4.15 points to trade at 45.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Roundtop Machinery Industries Co Ltd (TW:1540) added 9.94% or 4.35 points to end at 48.10 and Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) was up 9.92% or 7.70 points to 85.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Jinan Acetate Chemical Co Ltd (TW:4763) was down 9.80% or 94.00 points to 865.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Creative Sensor Inc (TW:8249) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.99% or 4.15 to 45.70. Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) fell to all time lows; down 9.95% or 0.21 to 1.90. Shares in Roundtop Machinery Industries Co Ltd (TW:1540) rose to all time highs; gaining 9.94% or 4.35 to 48.10.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.61% or 0.42 to $69.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.58% or 0.42 to hit $72.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 13.55 to trade at $2,594.15 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.23% to 32.01, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 101.06.
