Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which rose 3.57% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 2.90% or 0.14 points to end at 4.97 and Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) was up 1.54% or 0.20 points to 13.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which fell 4.07% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.30 at the close. Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) declined 2.56% or 0.03 points to end at 1.14 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was down 2.08% or 0.11 points to 5.19.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 87 to 26 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) rose to all time highs; rising 1.54% or 0.20 to 13.20.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 7.05 to $2,530.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.87% or 0.61 to hit $69.73 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.55 to trade at $73.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 101.21.
