Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.08%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Construction and Electronics sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.08%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Oceanic Beverages Co Inc (TW:1213), which rose 10.00% or 1.30 points to trade at 14.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Asia Optical Co Inc (TW:3019) added 6.67% or 8.00 points to end at 128.00 and Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) was up 5.65% or 155.00 points to 2,900.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 10.00% or 2.20 points to trade at 19.80 at the close. AzureWave Technologies Inc (TW:3694) declined 9.93% or 5.35 points to end at 48.55 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) was down 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Oceanic Beverages Co Inc (TW:1213) rose to 5-year highs; up 10.00% or 1.30 to 14.30.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.37% or 0.26 to $70.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.23% or 0.17 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.99 to trade at $2,670.99 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 32.48, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.04% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 106.61.
