(Reuters) – Canada’s main stock index hit a record high on Monday, helped by technology stocks, after President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of hedge fund manager Scott Bessent as U.S. Treasury Secretary buoyed investor sentiment globally.
At 9:32 a.m. ET (14:32 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 49.81 points, or 0.2%, at 25,494.09.
